hey mister! you wanna be on tv?

i was watching the news yesterday morning and they were doing this segment on companies charging their employees for being overweight. something about it increasing their health insurance costs. anyway... so as they're discussing this, we, the viewers, see the midsections of some rather overweight individuals. now my question is, do these people know their bellies are on tv? wouldn't it be weird if you were watching the news and then all of a sudden you saw your belly? or maybe they just ask people if they want to be on tv but don't tell them for what. i think i'd be upset if that were the case.
